49ERS SPORTS REGULAR SEASON PARKING GUIDE

Quick Notes:

  • The policies below pertain to scheduled varsity athletic events only. For regular campus parking hours, policies and more information, please visit the UNC Charlotte Parking and Transportation Services site.
  • Athletic Event Hours: Excluding football, game day parking is open beginning 1 1/2 hours before the start of the game until one hour after the completion of the event in designated athletic parking areas for each athletic venue listed below.
  • Fans must park in marked parking spaces within designated lots & decks and must obey all traffic laws.
  • Do not park in handicap accessible parking spots without a permit. See the accessible parking options in the sections below.
  • Do not park on curbs, grass areas or walkways.
  • Should any designated lot fill to capacity for non-football game days, directional parking signs and/or parking staff member(s)--when available--may direct you to the next closest parking lot.

TAKE THE LIGHT RAIL
Consider using the CATS Blue Line for your trip to campus.  Learn more by visiting https://lightrail.uncc.edu/.  From the JW Clay Blvd / UNC Charlotte Station, it's a short walk to baseball and softball. Or you may catch the Niner Transit Silver Line shuttle bus at the CRI Deck. The Silver Line will also stop at Popp Martin Student Union for access to Halton Arena.  Niner Transit Route Finder


BUS PARKING: All Sports
Visiting Team Bus: The game manager or 49ers event staff will  direct you to your designated parking area upon arrival. If you are directed to a parking lot, please park the bus furthest from the field of play to allow spaces for fans.
Groups & Ticketed Patrons : Contact the ticket office in advance at 704-687-4949 to inquire about parking directions.

PARKING LOCATIONS:
- Parking & Tailgating open 4 hours prior to kick-off for weekend games and 3 hours prior to kick-off for week day games.

  • Parking passes are required to enter campus on game day. To purchase a parking pass, click the button below or click HERE.
    • Please review your parking pass and the parking map below before coming to campus to ensure you enter through the proper entrance.
    • The only lot available for drive up purchase is the Pink Cone Deck. Cash is not accepted on game days. 
  • Parking passes will be able to download on mobile display only.  For more information on managing your parking pass, visit our Ticket Management Functions page. 
  • Accessible Parking: Accessible parking is available for purchase in the Orange CRI Deck
  • Shuttle Service (view map): Shuttle service will run periodically throughout the game. All shuttles will be wheelchair accessible. The shuttles will drop off and pick up at Gate 1 only.

FOOTBALL SEASON PARKING FAQ

  • FSL Account Holders and season ticket purchasers who are current members of the Athletic Foundation’s 49er Club (those who make a gift between July 1, 2023 and April 11, 2024) are eligible to purchase a regular-season parking permit in the reserved lots on campus.  

  • The permit fee for current members is $100 for the initial permit.  A discounted permit is available for UNC Charlotte full-time faculty & staff.  

  • All parking revenue is used to offset game day expenses including, but not limited to, shuttles, lot amenities, parking attendants, etc.  

  • A grid outlining the locations and required giving levels can be found by clicking here

  • Yes.  You can make a contribution by logging in to your 49er Club account online at http://www.charlotte49ers.com/GiveNow or by calling the Athletic Foundation at (704) 687-4950.

  • Season ticket renewals are now being accepted. The deadline to renew is April 11, 2024. Please contact the 49ers Ticket Office at (704) 687-4949 with any questions.

  •  Yes.  For example, a Green Jacket member at the $2,000 level may elect to purchase a space in the a lot eligible for Forty-Niner members at the $450 contribution level.

  • Yes, provided space remains AFTER the permit purchase deadline of April 11, 2024.  Second spaces will not be assigned until that date to ensure maximum availability for everyone.  The fee for a second permit is $250 in each of the surface lots.  

  • Yes.  The fee for a second permit in a deck is $100.

  • Grills of any kind are not permitted within the parking decks.  However, propane grills are permitted on the rooftops of Orange CRI Deck, Yellow Union Deck, and Purple West Deck.

  • Yes. Single game parking permits will be available for sale beginning TBA. Prices vary based on location.

  • Yes. However, it is important that each member of the group secures his/her parking permit at relatively the same time as others in the group. Since space is limited, it is possible that a lot can fill up before all members of the group have secured their permit.  Please be sure to indicate the names of each person in the group when making your parking request.

  • Yes. Shuttles will operate each game day beginning 1.5-2 hours prior to kickoff and ending 1 hour after the game ends. The route will offer stops near each football designated parking lot.  However, it may be a short walk from the lot entrance to the shuttle stop. Specific routes will be determined as we get closer to the season.  The shuttle route takes about 20 minutes to run depending on traffic.

  • Yes.

  • Yes.  The shuttle will operate from the Orange CRI Deck to Gate 1 at Jerry Richardson Stadium beginning 1.5-2 hours prior to kickoff and ending 1 hour after the game ends. 

  • Tailgating lots open 4 hours prior to kickoff for all Saturday games.  Games held on weekdays may vary.  As always, please consult www.charlotte49ers.com each game week for additional details.

  • Yes. RV parking is available in Red Lot 25 and can be purchased for the season.  You may also purchase an RV parking permit for a single game beginning in mid-August.  RV’s are not permitted to park overnight on campus and must follow the same tailgating time as regular vehicles.

- PARKING IS FREE STARTING 1 1/2 HOURS BEFORE EACH GAME

  • West Deck (Google Maps Link)
  • When necessary, overflow parking will be directed to Lot 7, Lot 7A or Union Deck. The overflow lots are only available in instances where West Deck is full. In those cases, parking attendants will direct traffic to the alternate sites.
  • Athletic Foundation Parking Permits are required for the Cone Deck on Men's Basketball game days.
  • Accessible Parking: A limited number of handicap spaces are available for game day parking in the SAC Handicap Lot and on the bottom level of West Deck for basketball and volleyball games.  Patrons parking on the bottom level of West Deck can access the elevator located on the south end of the deck to reach Level 3 where there is an accessible pathway to the arena.

  • Accessible Parking: A limited number of handicap spaces are available for game day parking in Lot 14 and on the bottom level of West Deck.

Weekday Games

  • Parking is free starting 1 ½ hours before each game.
    • Lot 23 (Google Maps Link - North & West side of Richardson Stadium along Phillips Road)
    • CRI Deck (Google Maps Link)
      • Fans parking in the CRI Deck will receive a parking ticket from the machine when they enter the deck. Fans must take this ticket to the baseball or softball stadium where kiosks will be located for fans to validate their parking ticket.

Saturday & Sunday Games

  • Parking is first come, first serve.
    • Fans parking in the CRI Deck will receive a parking ticket from the machine when they enter the deck. Fans must take this ticket to the baseball or softball stadium where kiosks will be located for fans to validate their parking ticket.

Accessible Parking - A limited number of handicap spaces are available for game day parking in the following baseball/softball lots:

  • Baseball - Lot 23A & Lot 23
  • Softball -  Wells Fargo Lot, Lot 23A, Lot 23
  • Additional Accessible Parking - If the other spaces are full, dedicated disability parking is also located in the CRI Deck (Google Maps Link). If using the CRI Deck, enter from Level 4 and proceed to Level 2 parking or take the elevator to Level 1.  See accessible pathway via Google Maps.
  • Passenger Pick-Up & Drop-Off - fans may be picked up and dropped off via Mac Everett Way for baseball and the entrance at Wells Fargo Lane for softball.  Drivers and passengers, should be extra aware of surroundings for pedestrians and other vehicles.

 

Niner Transit System - Niner Transit Silver Line is free of charge and available for any fan to use on campus. Please see below for transit stops for baseball & softball. All stops will be marked with feather flag signage. 

  • Stop 1 – CRI Deck
  • Stop 5 – EPIC South (Baseball Stop)
  • Stop 6 – Athletic Complex East (Softball Stop)
  • Stop 20 – Athletic Complex West (Softball to CRI Deck)
  • Stop 21 – EPIC North (Baseball to CRI Deck)

 

OTHER INFORMATION:

  • Please note parking will be limited on game days when normal classes are in session.
  • Parking lots for Softball and Baseball are best accessible from the North Tryon/HWY 29 entrance at JW Clay Blvd.
  • There is NO parking, standing, or unloading near the entrance to the Wells Fargo Fieldhouse. Please keep traffic flowing and proceed to your designated parking area.
  • If you are utilizing the light rail, exit at the JW Clay Blvd / UNC Charlotte Station. The stadiums are a short 10 minute walk from the station.
